Builders and $:
So today I decided that to be a great Clash of Clans builder, you don’t have to spend money, but it sure helps speeds things up if you do. I figure everyone reading this site and playing the game has at least 1 Apple device, so you can all afford $30, or the amount to buy 3 extra builders and have a few spare jewels for a rainy day. Also, Supercell made such a killer game, how can we not all support it by spending at least a little money, right? I hope I don’t lose readers by spending money, but if you’re serious about moving this game forward faster and supporting the game’s creators, spending a few bucks will make things far more fun than not spending money
You could also spend less for less builders, it’s up to you. Builder 3 is 500 gems, Builder 4 is 1,000 gems, and Builder 5 is 2,000 gems, so all in you need 3,500 gems. I spent $30 to get 3,700 gems. If you’re on a budget, I’d recommend getting at least 1 more builder right away for the $4.99, the 500 gem deal. Or you could nearly buy 2 builder huts with the $9.99, the 1200 gem deal, and just farm the rest. That would put you at about 1440-1450 gems if you’ve been following along with my gameplay. The other 50 gems would follow from achievements and removing obstacles, like trees and rocks.
It took me a while to come to this conclusion as people prefer not to spend their own money and I didn’t want to push away the audience here, but sometimes an investment in something we spend so much time doing is really worth it. With a Town Hall Level of 4, all of the surrounding resources are so cheap, but they take a few hours to build, so if you had more than twice the fire power to build, it’s a great Clash of Clans strategy to build faster. And for $20, you really can’t beat the price.
Computer Battle: Here’s a computer battle I played while my TH4 was in the works:
Defense: I was attacked by 20 barbarians and lost a measly 5k gold. Spread out your defensive units amongst your resources. You’ll want to keep this same strategy in the future, don’t put all of your storages in the same place, they become a target.
Clash of Clans Builder Strategy: After getting attacked countless times by level 6 troops in my other game at level 79 with 2,000 trophies, I’ve learned that when you get attacked, what you want to do is lose a little resources as possible by slowing the attacker down as best as possible. To do this, spread out your gold mines and elixir collectors across the base. They don’t need to be behind the walls. Just collect your resources at least twice a day and it will store your resources in your storages. By having them outside of the walls, it will slow the enemy down. While they’ll be attacking them, your canons, mortars, archer towers, and other defenses in the future will annihilate them.
Also, put a barracks or builder hut or army camp between each gold mine or elixir collector. To be a great Clash of Clans Builder, you need to think about how to slow down the enemy when they try to loot you. When the white area lights up after placing down your buildings, make sure it surrounds as far as possible outside of the walls of your base. This is the closest your enemies will be able to place their troops, and the sooner your defenses will be able to attack them.
Upgrading: Any time something is 15 minutes to an hour to upgrade, just do it. Canons, archer towers, barracks, you name it, just do it, so I’m upgrading my lower level defenses then upgrading my new gold mine and elixir collector. Again, the faster your can generate resources without doing anything is the faster you’ll be able to upgrade troops and army camps. After all, what’s more fun than attacking other players with incredible troops and looting them, right?!?!
